Oberst Dietrich Hrabak - Knights Cross with oak leaves



One of the leading personalities of the Luftwaffe, Hrabak flew with JG54 over Poland, France and the Battle of Britain. He was awarded the Knights Cross for his leadership during this Battle. Hrabak then flew in the Balkans before taking part in the invasion of the Soviet Union. In 1942 he became  Kommodore of that other stalwart Russia - JG52. He was awarded the Oak leaves after reaching his 118th 'kill'. In October 1944 he once again returned to JG54 and spent the last months of the war fighting in the Courland pocket. Hrabak scored 125 Victories in total.
